The abradable coatings had significantly enhanced turbomachinery performance by acting as a sacrificial seal between rotating blades and stationary casing. Further improvement in design to meet the higher energy demand increase service time has been key challenge solve gas turbine industry. Honeycomb seals have become industry standard clearance technique due their unique high structural strength with minimum weight. present study proposes concept form thermal shock resistance structure achieve temperature capability improve reliability of high-temperature structures for hot path turbines. A cavity layer honeycomb made SS 321 alloy was coated advanced ZrO2 + 7.5%Y2O3 4% polyester material using TriplexPro-210 plasma spray system. integrity assessed cross-sectional analysis evaluation coating microstructure. Additionally, micro-hardness test performed estimate fracture toughness, finite element used assess its thermo-mechanical performance. proposed this should be further validated develop most capable innovative technology structures.
